He is trained in a range of psychological therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Schema Therapy. Richard is an a registered and senior accredited psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is an Advanced Certified Schema Therapist, Trainer and Clinical Supervisor with the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST) and abides by the BACP ethical framework.
Online psychotherapy has a number of benefits for those who are seeking help for their difficulties. Psychotherapy can be hard to access for a number of reasons. Firstly it means that you don't have to spend the time and money to travel to see the therapist at their office, this can be important if getting the time and cost of attending is challenging for you or just off-putting. Sometimes we just can't attend due to issues such as mobility, anxiety, work and family commitments. And sometimes it is just not available due to where we live or the type of therapy we need is just not available to us.
Richard is able to offer sessions by video conferencing, phone or email or a combination.
